For the first time in the history of mankind, more than half of the world’s population now lives in cities.
In 2008, the world’s population was evenly split between urban and rural areas. In less than 10 years, this percentage will increase to more than 57%. It’s expected that 70% of the world populations will be urban by 2050, with most of that growth occurring in less developed countries.
This represents the most dramatic and largest-scale cultural shift in our lifetime. It brings challenges and opportunities for which the Christian community must be prepared.
- What’s behind this trend?
- What are the social implications?
- What impact does urbanization have on missions strategies?
- What does the 21st century missionary look like?
Explore the urbanisation phenomenon. Hear what exciting keynote speakers have to say. Participate in stimulating workshops. Come and catch God’s heartbeat for the cities. Find out how YOU can make a difference!
