REST is a two-full day training that will equip participants with biblical principles in embodying knowledge, skills, and attitudes to engage seniors wholistically through reminiscence, including those living with dementia. The aim is to boost the engagement of both believing and pre-believing seniors through Reminiscence Arts (RAs) conducted by the TRAC volunteers within their church communities.
By the end of the two-day training, participants will be able to:
Define reminiscence and appreciate the value of reminiscence in gospel presentation;
Apply biblical principles in reminiscence work;
Acquire and apply facilitation skills in conducting a reminiscence and the gospel session;
Apply meaningful communication skills when interacting with seniors; and
Customise the 12 reminiscence sessions to meet needs of seniors in church.
