DR EMILIA WONG, Vice-Principal of the Methodist School of Music, and her friends will be presenting a fund-raising concert at John Wesley Centre Recital Hall, Upper Bukit Timah Road, on April 26, 2003 at 7.50 pm.
“A Night to Remember with Emilia Wong & Friends” is in aid of the building funds of Telok Ayer Chinese Methodist Church and Queenstown Chinese Methodist Church.
It is conceptualised by Dr Wong, a talented musician and an advocate of the arts. It promises to be an extraordinary one, featuring original compositions written by Dr Wong, who will be premiering and performing her works.
Guest performers include Master See Ian Ike, the First Prize Winner of the National Music Competition for two consecutive years, and the Voices of Praise, a 40-strong choir consisting of active members from different churches. The audience can look forward to a series of enthralling and well-loved pieces.
Coupled with multi-media and a film presentation, “A Night to Remember” will be a time of celebrating His Gift of Music and Love, and aims to remind us once again of the importance of life and the choices we make.
Tickets, at $50, $100 and $150 (free seating within price section), are available at the Methodist School of Music, tel: 6767-5258, pager: 9416-8403; Queenstown Chinese Methodist Church, tel: 6473-3226 or 6763-7791; and Telok Ayer Chinese Methodist Church, tel: 6324-4001.
Dr Wong’s latest publication, When There is Music, featuring 15 original classical and church-related compositions, will soon be out for sale. Proceeds from the book will also be channelled towards the building funds of the two churches.
