To celebrate the promise of eternal life referred to in John 11:25-26, The Methodist Church in Singapore established The Garden of Remembrance in 1999, a Christian columbarium to house cremated remains of and to honour and remember our beloved deceased family and friends. The Garden of Remembrance is in the final phase of recent upgrading works, and will be relaunching its facilities on 5 Nov 2016, Saturday, with a Memorial Service in conjunction with All Saints’ Day.
Located within the serene surroundings of Old Choa Chu Kang Road, The Garden of Remembrance is designed to resemble a pair of open palms coming together in prayer. Clothed in an abundance of natural light, the building provides comfort and solace to all who pass through – a testament to God, the giver of comfort and peace, who through His goodness sustains us not only in this life but for life eternal.
Surrounded by all who share the same faith, the niches at the columbarium provide a tangible memorial to commemorate loved ones who have been called home to be with the Lord.
With 44,000 niches built over four stories on a vast hectare of land, the wide breezy corridors and walkways offer a spacious divide between the niche blocks, giving families the comfort and privacy they need.
The various private balconies and terraces overlooking the lush greenery and tranquil surroundings offer families and loved ones a quiet and peaceful space for prayer and contemplation as they reflect on the memories of loved ones who have passed.
“Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” (Psalm 23:6) Single, double and premium family niche options are available at The Garden of Remembrance. The premium family niches allow family members and loved ones to be housed together in a shared area. Pricing for the single niches start from $3,500.
Nine fully air-conditioned spaces are also available for Christian wakes, funeral and memorial services. Ranging from 1,000 to 2,250 sq feet with a seating capacity of 50 to 250 persons, the Chapel and memorial rooms of various sizes are available to cater to different needs. The team at The Garden of Remembrance will be happy to facilitate the arrangement of private memorial services.
Individuals who would like to find out more about the columbarium or are exploring pre-planning options can visit The Garden of Remembrance at 920 Old Choa Chu Kang Road, or contact the care team at 6795-8978 or TheGarden@methodist.org.sg
