Faith
Now faith is the substance of things hoped
for, the evidence of things not seen…
By faith we understand that the worlds
Were framed by the word of God…
But without faith it is impossible to please Him,
For he who comes to God must believe that He
is, and that He is a rewarder of those who
diligently seek Him…
By faith Abraham obeyed… not
knowing where he was going…
for he waited for the city which has foundations,
whose builder and maker is God.
Hebrews 11:1-10 (NKJV)
Faith is the abiding certainty,
Of God and hope of eternity.
It is not a wishful illusion,
Nor a mindless superstition;
For in creation and history, Is
evidence of God’s activity.
Faith is a life of adventure,
With God into the future;
Stepping into the unknown,
On His promises alone;
Obeying Him absolutely
In prosperity and adversity.
Faith believes and pleases God,
By acknowledging Him as Lord.
It constantly looks forward,
To His promised reward, Of
a wonderful celestial city,
Prepared for us in eternity.
