JESUS, the reason for this season

Intricate street decorations, glitzy window displays and Christmas trees in malls! Yes, we have come to that time of the year again – Christmas! This December’s festive season also marks the 11th edition of Celebrate Christmas in Singapore (CCIS), where mass carolling and special performances take centre-stage.

CCIS has been founded on the premise of reverse missions. About 1.5 million tourists set foot on Orchard Road every December, many of whom are from countries closed off to the Gospel. The celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ is a perfect opportunity to reach out to them as they stroll down Orchard Road.

Interactive booths will display the Christmas story through tapestries as well as 2D and 3D displays. There will also be two charity booths by the Singapore Anglican Community Services and My Christmas Wish, a foundation that gives under-privileged children Christmas gifts.

From 18 to 23 Dec 2014, soak in the festive mood with the nightly performances from 7 to 11 p.m. at Wisma Atria and Tong Building. There is a mass carolling session on Christmas Eve at Tong Building. This will culminate in a Christmas concert on 25 Dec 2014 from 7.45 p.m. to 9 p.m, where Orchard Road will be closed.

In our flurry of Christmas celebrations, let us remember to reach out to the lost and hurting in our midst, that they may know Jesus, the reason for
the season.

CCIS is run solely by the grace of His provision through His church. So, your prayers, support and love gifts will be much appreciated.

PRAY for favour from the authorities, wisdom in handling projects, and good weather; intercede for pre-believers. Please email secretariat@ccis.sg for monthly prayer requests from CCIS.
