Its new location is at Methodist Centre
THE Methodist Hospice Fellowship (MHF) is now called Agape Methodist Hospice (AMH). The new name reflects the ministry’s emphasis on the clinical aspects of hospice care for home-based patients.
This means that terminally ill patients will be given full medical and nursing care in the comfort of their homes. The ministry will also continue to provide emotional and spiritual support through befriending.
Like all Methodist Welfare Services (MWS) centres and outreach, Agape Methodist Hospice is open to everyone regardless of race or religion, in order to offer all a chance to live life to its fullest.
A wholly-owned outreach of the MWS, AMH has been operating from Methodist Centre at 70 Barker Road since January.
When the ministry was formed in 1990, it was known as Agape Fellowship. Comprising doctors, nurses and lay volunteers, the aim was to befriend and assist those who have life-threatening illnesses, their families and caregivers. It was renamed the Methodist Hospice Fellowship when it came under the umbrella of the MWS in 1995.

ABC’s to live by
ALTHOUGH things are not perfect
Because of trial or pain
ALTHOUGH things are not perfect
Because of trial or pain
Continue in thanksgiving
Do not begin to blame.
Even when the times are hard
Fierce winds are bound to blow God is forever able
Hold on to what you know.
Imagine life without His love Joy would cease to be
Keep thanking Him for all the things
Love imparts to thee.
Move out of “Camp Complaining”
No weapon that is known
On earth can yield the power
Praise can do alone.
Quit looking at the future
Redeem the time at hand
Start every day with worship To “thank” is a command.
Until we see Him coming Victorious in the sky
We’ll run the race with gratitude
Xalting God most high.
Yes, there’ll be good times and yes some will be bad, but …
Zion waits in glory … where none are ever sad!

TRAC President conferred Doctor of Ministry
THE Rev Wee Boon Hup, President of Trinity Annual Conference (above), has been conferred a Doctor of Ministry (D. Min) in Christian Spirituality.
It all began in 2000 when he registered at Fuller Theological Seminary for the programme.
He was one of a cohort of 15 students, mostly pastors and church ministry workers from all over the United States and Singapore, who had to attend annual two-week lectures-cum-retreat at Pasadena over the initial three years.
The journey has been fraught with challenges. He has also had to ensure that he remained faithful to his call and to God’s flock under his care. He was then the Pastor-in-Charge of Paya Lebar Methodist Church.
The Rev Dr Wee, as he is now known, credits his doctorate to the church family at Paya Lebar Methodist Church for their unwavering support during the first three years of the programme, to the unconditional love of his family and most importantly to the faithfulness and grace of his Lord.
P. Sathiasingam is Chairman of the Board of Presidency, Trinity Annual Conference.
