A NEW TAMIL WORSHIP SERVICE has been started in the eastern part of Singapore to cater to the significant increase of the Indian expatriate population in recent years. It aims to fill an urgent need as there are very few Indian churches in the area.
May 6 saw a group of worshippers from Seletar Tamil Methodist Church (STMC), as well as a few participants from the surrounding area, gathering at the Bethesda (Bedok-Tampines) Church at 6 pm for the first worship service of this new initiative.
Bishop Dr Robert Solomon participated in the worship and gave a message of challenge on the topic “Sent to the Harvest” from Luke 10:1-20. He shared insights on the purpose and provision of God sending workers to the harvest. He also warned of the distractions that would take the congregation away from God’s purposes.
The service closed with the Bishop conducting the Holy Communion service. Following that, the congregation fellowshipped over food.
This ministry was initiated at the urging of the Bishop and the support of Emmanuel Tamil Annual Conference President, the Rev James Nagulan. We thank the pastors and leaders of Bethesda (Bedok-Tampines) Church for their kind willingness to accommodate us in their premises.
We will continue to hold a Tamil worship service at the church every Sunday at 6 pm. Please join us at Bethesda (Bedok- Tampines) Church, 300 Bedok North Ave 3, Singapore 469717. Our service will be held at Genesis 1-06 (Level 1).
