THE TRAC BOARD OF SENIORS MINISTRY celebrated its 10th Anniversary with a Thanksgiving Dinner at Ban Heng Pavilion Restaurant @ Harbour Front Centre on Nov 11, 2010. The anniversary theme was “Celebrating God’s Grace, Goodness & Love”. The Guest-of-Honour was the President of Trinity Annual Conference (TRAC), the Rev Dr Wee Boon Hup, who was accompanied by Mrs Catherine Wee.
The highlight of the celebration was the lighting of a big candle, symbolising “Jesus is the light of the world” (John 8:12) and passing it on from the board members to the co-ordinators and to all the seniors as they remembered the Word, “Let us walk in the light of the Lord.” (Isa 2:5).
Retracing Paul’s journeys
THE TRAC BOARD OF SENIORS MINISTRY’S BIBLICAL TOUR to Turkey from Oct 11 to 23, 2010 saw 38 Seniors and a few younger participants retracing the missionary journeys of Paul from Antioch, then in Syria and now Antakya.
From there, the group moved to Paul’s birthplace in Tarsus and then to Lystra, Iconium, Pisidian Antioch, Colossae and on to the Agean region, visiting six of the seven cities of the Book of Revelation, i.e. Laodicea, Philadelphia, Sardis, Ephesus, Smyrna and Pergamum.
It was an exciting and enriching experience to see the ruins, or just an unexcavated mound or a Roman street bearing marks of early Christian history. These very places where the apostles and disciples had trodden gave connection to our Christian heritage and reminded us of those who had given their lives to Christ in spite of persecution. One could almost sense their devotion flowing through this land.
