Stakeholder Engagement Manager (MMS)
The Methodist Missions Society (MMS) is the missions agency of The Methodist Church in Singapore (MCS). MMS seeks to establish indigenous churches supported by mission endeavors in communities across our region.
We have a vacancy for Stakeholder Engagement Manager (3-year contract).
Responsibilities and Duties
This role oversees the stakeholder engagement and to formulate and lead in the implementation of MMS approved administrative policies, plans and established goals at the Home office.
Stakeholder Engagement
The primary role of the Stakeholder Engagement Manager is to ensure MMS field ministries are communicated to and supported by the wider Methodist community in Singapore.
- Co-ordinate, implement and manage MMS stakeholder engagement policy and strategy, including development of programmes for the sharing of our specific ministries by country, Regional Directors, ministry staff and missionaries.
- Plan and engage the relevant MCS agencies, annual conferences, Methodist churches, and donors to respond in partnership and collectively support the field ministries of MMS comprehensively.
- Plan and conduct periodic fundraising events to meet specific projects, ad-hoc and administrative needs.
- Ensure compliance with the legal framework of fund raising and remittance of funds in support of foreign projects and agencies.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key leaders of MCS, missions board and/or committee of annual and local conferences.
- Follow up on endorsed plans and programmes; and to provide regular reports to different levels of committees.
Home Office
Another primary role is to formulate, lead and implement the approved MMS administrative policies, plans and established goals at the Home office.
- Direct, oversee and coordinate the ministry of MMS at the Home office.
- Oversee the various staff functions namely [Personnel and Missionary Care, Administration, Depository, Internship and Scholarship, Volunteer Relations, IT, Communications, and Data Base Management] and events in MMS Home office].
- Lead and care for the Home office staff.
- Build and equip the Home office teams to conduct the work competently and effectively.
- Report regularly on the work progress of Home office and the implementation status of established plans.
- Prepare and manage the Home office budget for MMS in compliance with MCS and MMS financial and governance policies.
- Review and maintain the MMS manual and MMS Governance manual to remain relevant with approved policies and plans.
- Improve MMS Information Management.
- Participate in MMS Home office projects and initiatives.
- Support MMS and MCS in special projects and/or events as assigned by the Executive Director and/or Bishop.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, or equivalent, from an established institution or university with at least 7 years of relevant working experiences, preferably in mission field or in Church leadership.
- Good mastery of verbal and written communication skills, especially in proposal writing and presentation and to collaborate with various key stakeholders.
- Able to communicate effectively across many levels of committees headed by clergy and laity.
- Able to work well independently and under challenging timelines.
- Agility to think strategically and analytically and make sound decisions based on a deep understanding of the objectives and dynamics of the MMS.
- Excellent skills in leadership and people management.
- Proficient in MS Office Application (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
