Christians today are opting for contemporary worship because they don’t understand the traditional liturgy. A better understanding of what the liturgy means will assist our appreciation of it. For the liturgy contains all the essential truths of the Christian faith which can deeply impact worshippers. When the liturgy is done well, these truths come alive. This course explains the meaning of the liturgy and offers practical guidelines on how it can be properly carried out. It will be helpful not only to those seeking to deepen their relationship with God through the liturgy but also worship leaders of liturgical services.

Rev Dr Simon Chan taught theology and other related subjects such as liturgical, spiritual and contextual theologies at TrinityTheological College for more than 30 years. Among his published works is Liturgical Theology: The Church as Worshipping Community (IVP Academic).
