Changing perspectives on church ministry

On my wedding day, the Women’s Society of Christian Service (WSCS) ladies at my church gave me one of the most unforgettable expressions of love I have ever experienced.

I feel closest to God through music

Serving in church as both a pianist and a member of the choir has become a very important part of my life. Music has always been one of the ways I feel closest to God, so being able to serve him through music is something I am very grateful for.

Back to the mission field

Returning to Singapore in 2020 after having served as a missionary for a total of five and a half years in Cambodia, I envisioned living a quiet and peaceful life in full retirement. But God had different ideas for me.

Finding my place in God’s family

When I was a child, I was brought to Holy Covenant Methodist Church by my mum. I would attend Sunday school and later on, youth fellowship.

God’s grace in my life

For me, being a Methodist is really about living in the constant awareness of God’s grace. I’ve come to see and experience it in different ways—God’s prevenient grace that sought me out before I even knew him, his justifying grace that saved me and his sanctifying grace that continues to shape me into the person he wants me to be.

Serving in every season of life

My wife, Eunice, and I are founding members of Living Waters Methodist Church (LWMC). It is a privilege to see how God is using LWMC and its distinct intergenerational ministry to bless and touch lives around us. We have four children, and God has blessed us with three grandchildren.

Serving through song

I‘ve been singing in the choir for over 20 years and more recently, as a backup vocalist in the worship team. I knew I wanted to serve, but more than that, I sensed that God was calling me to offer what I could for his purposes. For me, serving is part of what it means to follow Christ, to give of ourselves in service to God and to others.
