Building on a legacy in Methodist schools
God placed in me a burden to draw a closer link between the Methodist Church and the Methodist schools. Having been brought up in Fairfield Methodist School for 10 years, I heard of God’s agape love through the daily devotions and weekly chapel services. But more importantly, I experienced it through godly teachers and volunteers from The Boys’ Brigade (BB) who poured out their life for me and my schoolmates.
Reverse mentoring?
THE TERM “MENTORING” takes its name from the Greek classic, The Odyssey, in which the character “Mentor” becomes responsible for guiding Odysseus’ son, as the father goes off to war. The presence of an older, and possibly father-like, figure is often traditionally referred to as having a mentor. However, is this traditional view of mentoring outdated and antiquated?
