The Emmanuel Tamil Annual Conference (ETAC) is one of the three Annual Conferences of The Methodist Church in Singapore (MCS). Its teachings, goals, aims and administrative system are consistent with those of the local churches and Annual Conferences within the MCS.
ETAC’s vision is a Conference that is “Alive for Christ”. It seeks to establish itself as a sharing community with a sense of belonging within ETAC and sister churches of the other two Annual Conferences so as to support one another, grow in faith and share a living faith with the wider community outside the Church.
A key focus of ETAC churches is to equip and empower members to spread the Gospel, particularly in the neighbourhoods where they are located. These are strategic areas where there are enclaves of non-Christian Indians and Indian migrant workers. Seizing the opportunity for Missions at our Doorstep, the churches have simple worship services-cum-fellowship days for pre-believers and young Christians which aim to integrate them into the life of the churches.
ETAC’s community programmes include a prison ministry, aftercare for Indian inmates and their families, support for a drug rehabilitation centre, visits to welfare homes and an annual blood donation drive.
