Bishop appoints new Chairperson for ACS Board of Governors

After 16 years of dedicated service as Chairperson of the ACS Board of Governors, Mr. Richard Seow will be stepping down from this role. He will continue on the Board as a representative of the Methodist Church.

While he originally planned to retire two years ago, he was requested by Bishop Dr Gordon Wong to continue as Chairperson to lead discussions with the Ministry of Education in establishing the ACS Academy, a special education school in partnership with the Methodist Welfare Services, as well as the proposed relocation of ACS (Primary) to Tengah. With these plans now substantially in place, he will transition into a new role. He has been invited to serve as the Chairperson-designate of the ACS Academy, our newest initiative. His perseverance and vision were instrumental in securing government approval for the ACS Academy, making him the ideal leader for this exciting endeavour.

Seow’s leadership has been instrumental in establishing the ACS Foundation, the forthcoming ACS Academy, and he was also one of the founders of the Oldham Club at the ACS Old Boys’ Association (ACSOBA).

Mr. Choe Peng Sum, a current member of the Board of Governors, will assume the role of Chairperson effective 1 November 2024.
