This was baffling, given that it was said by someone whose career was in helping couples with their problems. In a statement released at the end of the fourth Asian Methodist Conference (AMC), 95 delegates from 11 Asian countries noted the concerns faced by countries and churches in Asia arising from both religious and secular challenges, made worse in some places by authoritarian regimes, growing fundamentalism and consumerism.
