Each of us has received a gift or “grace” from God. (The word gift is related to the Greek word for grace.) Just as 1 Peter 4:70 says: “As each has received … God’s varied grace.” We can serve in many varied ways because each of us has received varied gifts or graces. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace. (1 Peter 4:10 ESV)

Have you encountered “charity muggers”, the people paid to conduct face-to-face solicitation on behalf of the charities who hire them? Some genuinely believe in the cause that they’re paid to promote, while others approach it with the same level of enthusiasm as a rebellious teenager forced to do something against his will.

Some of you would have experienced getting a wood splinter embedded in your hand. As you try to extract the splinter, bits may come away but some remain stubbornly buried. You then fluctuate between finding ways to remove it and ignoring it while hoping that it will somehow disappear.
Clashing generations: Intergenerational challenges in the Church
Anyone who has served in a church ministry is likely to be able to share an anecdote or two about some misunderstanding or conflict that arose between members belonging to different generations. “That’s life!”, you may sigh, but instead of resigning ourselves to it, we have undertaken The Generations Project in the hope that our research can help to facilitate greater empathy through a deeper understanding of each generation.
To sing the cause of ACS forever
On 9 Feb, ACS, together with MOE, made a spectacular announcement that it will start a special education (SPED) school. It will be the 5th SPED school in Singapore. No less earth-shaking to the ACS community were the other announcements made alongside: in 2030 ACS (Primary) will move to Tengah, a new heartlands precinct from its current Barker Road campus, and enrol girls as well. ACS (Junior), currently operating at Winstedt Road, will eventually move into the Barker Road site.
Your worth is not dependent on your ability, or your disability
Rev Lai Kai Ming, who is the pastor overseeing the Children and Youth ministry at Barker Road Methodist Church (BRMC), announced earlier this month through a video recording that he was suffering from a degenerative eye disease, causing him to lose his vision. He says that this condition has even enabled him to share about God.
