On 3 June 2025, Methodist Welfare Services (MWS) held a Dedication Service to mark the relocation of two family-focused centres: MWS Strengthening Families Programme@Family Service Centre (MWS FAM@FSC) and Families for Life@Community – MWS (MWS FFLC). The Service took place at MWS Covenant FSC – Hougang (MWS CFSC), with members of MWS’ Centre Governance Committees, Methodist stakeholders and MWS staff in attendance.

While these centres are not new, each now operates from its own dedicated space on the same street, Hougang Avenue 8—MWS FAM@FSC at Blk 615 and MWS FFLC at Blk 619. Together with MWS CFSC at Blk 613, the three centres form the new MWS Family Services Hub, serving families across the Hougang, Sengkang and Serangoon region. By co-locating the services, MWS aims to foster greater collaboration across teams and provide more seamless support to families at different stages of need.

The three services collectively span a continuum of care—from early prevention to intensive intervention:

  • MWS FFLC offers support through parenting workshops and marriage programmes, helping generally healthy families build strong foundations.
  • MWS FAM@FSC serves families who are beginning to experience strain, by offering counselling on parenting, marital, and divorce-related issues.
  • MWS CFSC journeys with families facing more complex challenges such as conflict, financial hardship, and domestic violence. The Centre was originally opened by Paya Lebar Methodist Church (PLMC) in 1987 and has been jointly operated with MWS since 1996 in a long-standing and trusted partnership.

Describing the Hub as “a gift to the community”, MWS CEO Calvin Ngo said in his address: “For families, it means they don’t have to worry about going to the ‘right’ place. There’s no wrong door. Once they reach out, we’ll journey with them and ensure they get the support they need.”

Bishop Philip Lim, who is the Patron of MWS, delivered a message and led in a dedication prayer, while Rev Jacob Lim from PLMC prayed for the centres. The event concluded with guided tours of all three centres and a time of fellowship over refreshments.
