I am deeply thankful and humbled to be entrusted with the opportunity to serve as Principal of Methodist Girls’ School (MGS)—a school with a remarkable 139-year heritage shaped by faith, service and generations of committed Board members, educators, students and alumni.

To step into a community with such a rich history is both a privilege and a responsibility.

I give thanks to God for those who have faithfully built and sustained the school over the years, and for the strong alumni network whose continued love, support and stewardship keep the school’s spirit vibrant and alive. Their enduring connection reflects the lasting impact of a mission-centred education.

Indeed, I know it is God’s blessing that I am back in a Methodist mission school as my first posting as Principal was to Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ School (Secondary) in 2010. I have witnessed how, and believe deeply that, a Christian mission school flourishes whenschool, church, alumni, parents and staff walk together with a shared purpose. Education in such a setting goes beyond academic excellence. It is about shaping lives anchored in faith, character and service.

Our school theme for 2026, “Rooted in God’s Love”, resonates profoundly with me. Drawn from Colossians 2:6–7 (NIV), to be “rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith”— this theme speaks of what truly sustains us.  To be rooted is to be grounded in something enduring and life-giving. God’s love provides the foundation from which our students grow in wisdom, compassion, resilience and courage. When young people know they are loved by God, they gain confidence to learn boldly, serve generously and lead with humility.

My hope is that every girl who passes through our gates will experience a community where faith is lived out daily—in kindness shown, relationships nurtured and opportunities given to discover purpose. Together, we will continue to honour the school’s rich legacy while preparing our girls to make meaningful contributions to the world.

I look forward to journeying alongside our staff, students, alumni, parents and church partners as we build on this strong foundation, remaining steadfast in our calling to nurture generations who are truly rooted in God’s love.

I was richly blessed to encounter Jesus as my Lord and Saviour when I was an undergraduate and training to be a teacher. As a sinner saved by grace, I look forward to living out his kingdom values in each school I go to, sharing the joy of the gospel in my life and my ways.

Stepping into Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) has thus been a whole mix of emotions. It is at the same time both humbling and exciting. To steward this esteemed institution is a deep privilege, one that fills me with gratitude and a strong sense of responsibility.

ACS(I) is far more than a school with a distinguished history—it is a living testimony of God’s faithfulness across generations. Joining in the year of ACS140 is especially meaningful. Everywhere I turn, I see faith, sacrifice and gospel-inspired love woven into ACS’ story.

ACS truly embodies what God our Father calls us to be: a family. The partnership with the Church, the ministry of the Chaplaincy and Christian Ministry team, the dedication of staff, the support of parents, and the enduring commitment of alumni and Board members reflect a community bound not by tradition, but by shared faith and purpose. There is passion here—a collective mission to nurture ACSians who will honour God and serve humanity.

Looking ahead, my heart is to develop future-ready ACSians who are catalysts of change. In a world that is increasingly complex and uncertain, our students must be equipped with sharp minds for deep thinking and caring leadership, grounded in gospel values and guided by compassionate hearts. Future-readiness is not only about skills and innovation; it is about character, courage and raising young people who engage the world confidently yet remain anchored in Christ.

As our 2026 theme verse Matthew 5:16 reminds us, we are to let our light shine before others, so that God may be glorified. My prayer is that every ACSian will grow not only in excellence, but also in eternal perspective—carrying gospel hope into the future.

I am honoured and blessed to return to serve Anglo-Chinese Junior College (ACJC), my

beloved alma mater. As I step into my new role, I am very grateful for the warm welcome, encouragement and support from staff, students and stakeholders alike, reflecting the authentic culture of care and collegiality that defines our College.

During my previous term as teacher and Vice-Principal at ACJC, I witnessed and experienced how our community thrives when we learn, grow and create together. This collaborative learning spirit remains very much alive today. The deep, authentic human connections we foster are anchored on empathy, care and compassion, creating an environment where students flourish as whole persons—spiritually, emotionally, intellectually and socially—in others-centred ways that give purpose and meaning to their learning journey, and prepare them for a life of purposeful learning and living.

Nurturing students of sound character and values who care about others above self is central to an ACJC education. Their character becomes visible in how they think, speak and act daily. The combined theme for ACS in this 140th year of its founding is “A Beacon of Truth and Light”, and the theme verse comes from Matthew 5:16: “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to  your Father who is in heaven.” We are reminded to illuminate the path to bring hope and joy, choosing to lead and serve the common and greater good that reflects God’s love and glorifies him.

The Fun-O-Rama XVII on 28 March 2026 exemplifies this spirit—bringing together staff, students, parents, alumni and supporters in collaborative service that continues our precious AC legacy of paying it forward with hearts of gratitude.

Moving ahead, we are excited to see how God will guide and direct our ACJC family to be his beacon of truth and light as we prepare young people not as self-focused individuals, but as values-driven leaders and lifelong learners who pursue noble ambition and character always for the service of God and nation.

To God be the Glory! The Best is Yet to Be!
