THE Methodist Church in Singapore hosted the Annual Gathering of the Fellowship of Asian Methodist Bishops (FAMB) at the Garden Hotel from March 13 to 15, 2004.

Thirty Bishops from Bangladesh, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea (South), Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and Taiwan came for the meeting.

It was followed by the annual meeting of the Executive Committee of the Asian Methodist Council (AMC), which was also held at the Garden Hotel.

The Bishops paid a courtesy call on President S. R. Nathan at the Istana on the morning of March 15. In the evening, they, together with their wives and AMC delegates, were treated to a Chinese dinner at The New Otani.

A day earlier, the visiting Bishops and their wives visited Methodist Centre and Bethany Methodist Nursing Home before they were taken on a city tour. They were treated to a Western-style dinner at Stewords, a riverboat restaurant off the waters of Sentosa. The evening ended with a visit to the spectacular Musical Fountain show on Sentosa.
