Annual Conferences elect new Vice-Presidents

All three Annual Conferences of The Methodist Church in Singapore (MCS) elected new Vice-Presidents at their 39th Sessions in November 2014. The elections, held every two years, identify lay volunteers who will work closely with the Presidents to assist them in their duties.

The new Vice-President for Emmanuel Tamil Annual Conference (ETAC) is Mr Anton Moses from Ang Mo Kio Tamil Methodist Church, replacing Mr Richard Jeremiah. In order to devote himself to his new role, Anton stepped down as Chairperson of ETAC’s Board of Governance, and Richard was later elected in his place.

The Chinese Annual Conference (CAC) was commended by Mr Kim Seah Teck Kim, Secretary of the Trustees of the MCS, for being the first conference in our Methodist Church history to elect a female Vice-President. Ms Kwok Wan Yee from Charis Methodist Church replaces Mr Han Hai Kwang as Vice-President, stepping down from her role as East District Associate Lay Leader. In her place, Mr Dennis Chua Teck Meng was elected.

Mr Edmund E from Faith Methodist Church was elected Vice-President of Trinity Annual Conference (TRAC), replacing Mr Kim Seah who had served the maximum of three consecutive terms. Edmund vacated his previous role as TRAC Lay Leader, to which position Kim was later elected.

Methodist Message congratulates Anton, Wan Yee and Edmund on their new roles!
