DR LEE LI ENG (left) has retired as Chairman of the Board of Management (BOM) of Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) after serving in that position for 15 years.
She is succeeded by Mr Richard Seow (right), Chairman of the ACS Board of Governors.
Dr Lee has been a member of the ACS (I) BOM since the school became independent in 1988 and has been instrumental in helping the school make its adjustments from a Government-aided status to that of an independent school.
In October 1995, she was appointed the Chairman of the BOM. Her leadership has made an impact on the smooth running and excellent co-ordination of various committees, such as the Finance Committee, Endowment Fund Management Committee, Parents Support Group, Fund-Raising Committee and Building and Development Committee.
She has also been instrumental in encouraging and supporting the school to propose the International Baccalaureate Programme as an alternative to the “A” Levels in its new Integrated Programme approved by the Ministry of Education.
Mr Seow is the Chairman of the Singapore Sports Council and Republic Polytechnic. He was appointed Chairman of the ACS BOG in 2008.
He received his early education at Anglo- Chinese Junior School, Anglo-Chinese Secondary School and Anglo-Chinese Junior College.
He received his commission from the Singapore Armed Forces in 1984, where he was a Sword of Honour winner. He completed his undergraduate education with a BS Economics from the University of Oregon and received his MBA from the University of Southern California.
