METHODIST SCHOOLS STAFF GET-TOGETHER 2004
“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things shall be given to you as well.”
— Matthew 6: 33.
THE Methodist Schools Staff Get-Together 2004 was held at the Anglo-Chinese School (Barker Road) Campus on Aug 28, 2004.
About a thousand Methodist schools staff gathered for the occasion which started with a service at 8.30 am at the Lee Kong Chian Auditorium.
The Anglo-Chinese School (Primary) Choir gave a beautiful rendition of two songs. The Truthmin worship team then led the congregation in worshipping God from their hearts.
The Guest-of-Honour, Bishop Dr Robert Solomon, delivered an inspiring and reassuring message. He exhorted everyone to remember that God, our Heavenly Father, cares for us, and our future is in God. “If God is our Master, we should trust Him to know our needs and provide for us.” He urged God’s children to cease worrying and put their trust in God.
After the message, the teachers recited the Teacher’s Pledge to recommit themselves to the nurturing of their pupils to be the best that they can be, thus fulfilling the mission of the Methodist schools.
A total of 51 awards were presented to honour the people who have given their service to the Methodist schools. These included long service awards and awards to retirees and outgoing school board members.
The Primary 1 and 2 Synergy Dancers from Anglo-Chinese School (Primary) also delighted the congregation with their exuberant performance.
After the service, the participants adjourned for a tea reception before proceeding to enrich themselves by attending various talks and activities that have been planned by the host school, Anglo-Chinese School (Primary). Everyone had a great time of fellowship and the participants left with a feeling of camaraderie.
It is indeed an honour and privilege to belong to the family of Methodist Schools, a family where the “Heart Matters”! To God Be the Glory!
Josephine Ng is the Vice-Principal of Anglo-Chinese School (Primary).
