‘Much more could be done for Chiangmai’
PARTICIPANTS of the six-day Celebration of God’s Goodness in the Thailand mission trip from March 15 to 20, 2005, had a good understanding of our various missions work in Chiangmai.
The last day of their trip was spent worshipping with the local believers in three of the Methodist churches. Three participants followed the Rev James Nagulan, President of Emmanuel Tamil Annual Conference, who preached at Santi Methodist Church. Fifteen participants attended the worship service at Sanphranet Methodist Church where the Rev R. Prabhu, Chairman of the Field Board of Ministry and Pastor of Ang Mo Kio Tamil Methodist Church, gave the message.
Bishop Dr Robert Solomon preached at Shineforth Methodist Church where 14 participants attended. Each congregation was attended by about 40 people. As many of the participants were first timers, the mission exposure trip opened their eyes to witness and led them to participate in mission works in Thailand.
Some of them are looking forward to joining in future similar programmes. Though the weather was scorching hot, the hearts of the participants were stirred. It was a short but enriching and meaningful trip to Thailand. The participants left Chiangmai knowing that much more could be, and had to be, done.
Let us come and serve alongside the people in Thailand with our God-given abilities, skills and giftings because many Thai people have yet to experience God’s saving grace. They can know what real love is by our deeds.
